JAIL CONTACT INFORMATION:

 
Theo Lacy was first opened in 1960, making it the oldest jail in Orange County. Anyone arrested in Orange County will be taken to the Intake Release Center (“IRC”) where they are booked. From there, men are sometimes transferred to the Theo Lacy Jail Facility. Male inmates may end up at Theo Lacy because they are considered a high-risk offender, or have serious mental or medical health issues, or were arrested in close proximity.

VISITING INSTRUCTIONS:

All visitors must provide a government issued photo ID:

• a California driver’s license,
• a California identification card,
• a U.S. Passport,
• an alien registration card, or
• a U.S. military card.

Visitors are prohibited from bringing the following inside the visiting lobby:

• purses,
• cameras,
• cell phones,
• writing tablets,
• recording devices, or
• weapons

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

It’s important to note that after being arrested in Orange County, inmates are transferred from the IRC booking location to one of the Orange County Main Jails such as the Orange County Central Men’s Jail, James A. Musick Facility, or in the case of females, the Orange County Central Women’s Jail.
